THE OKIE SHOW SHOW is...

a podcast for every film school grad that doesn't know what to do next. Or for every musician that doesn't know what direction to take. Or for all of those people stuck in traffic just bored to tears and looking for a laugh that also makes them go "hmmm".

We are a comedy podcast that explores the inner workings of the Heartland's entertainment industry. Did you know we even had a film industry in Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Georgia? Because, yes, it is a thing. We exist!

We talk to industry professionals from gaffers to comedians to the next breakout indie rock band. But here's the thing, we could care less what those peoples' inspirations are, or how they feel about the latest Star Wars catastrophe (we swear we don't have an opinion on that). We ask the questions that will hopefully give you answers that will lead to a future job. How do you market yourself as a director? How do you start a family and freelance at the same time? How do you evade taxes like Han and Chewie from the Empire (totally kidding...)?

HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT FROM ALL OF THOSE OTHER ENTERTAINMENT PODCASTS?

Well aside from doing our best to arm you with the information you'll need to get working, we're also comedians that actually work in the industry. We take a fun, free-form conversational approach to these tough and often super complicated questions. And guess what. We even play a bit of improv at the end of every episode.

So join your hosts Brian Gililland and Kelly Lawson every other week for another fun ride into the wild world of the REAL entertainment industry. No pie in the sky head in the clouds b.s. here.
